We are a non-profit community service organization. Beginning in 1942, our corporation is chartered by and under the supervision of The International Association of Lions Clubs, the largest service organization in the world. Our primary service activity is aid to the sight impaired and promotion of vision health. Among other community service projects we:
| Pay for eye exams and eyeglasses | |
| Provide a low-vision machine for free public use | |
| Do vision screenings | |
| Recycle used eyeglasses | |
| Provide scholarships | |
| Sponsor school projects | |
| Make local charitable donations |
Although we personally participate in humanitarian efforts around the globe, the vast majority of our efforts and funds stay right here in Miami County. Our service area includes Troy, Covington, Pleasant Hill, Tipp City and the surrounding areas.
The Troy Lions Club is made up of civic-minded men and women who are interested in making our community a better place to live. All persons age 18 and over are eligible to join. There are many rewards in Lions Membership:
| Fulfillment and pride by making a difference | |
| Fun and friendship in working together | |
| Meeting and networking with others | |
| Learning about local issues through programs | |
| Developing and improving personal, business and leadership skills |
The Troy Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Held at Hayner Cultural Center, a short program and business session follows the catered meal. Meetings typically adjourn around 8:15 pm. Dues are only $60.00 a year (with family and student discounts available) and meal reservations are only $9.00 each.
