Lion Terry was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on August 6, 1940. His family moved to Lafayette, Indiana and he graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1960. After high school Lion Terry attended the University of New Mexico on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1965 with a B.A. degree. Lion Terry also has his M.A. from St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. After graduation he went to work at the
 Ft. Wayne State Hospital and Training Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Lion Terry worked at the Training Center for 8 years with time out for military service which was spent mostly in Korea.

After his service in the Army, he and Lioness Janet were married in Delphos, Ohio on August 3, 1968. They have 5 children; 3 daughters, Jill, Erika, and Bridget and two sons, Clark, deceased, and Keith. They are the proud grandparents to six grandchildren. Terry and Janet enjoy traveling in the western states and visiting their children and grandchildren. Terry is very fond of the summer time because of one word: GOLF. Terry’s favorite saying is, “It never rains on a golf course.” Lion Terry retired from International Harvester in 2000 after 29 years of service.

Lion Terry has been a proud member of the Northridge Lions Club since 1983. He has held the offices of President, Secretary, Lion Tamer, and Tail Twister. He also served as the zone chairman for Zone 9 for two years. Lion Terry was awarded the Melvin Jones Award by his club in 1996. He was also awarded the Council of Governor award in 2007. Lion Terry is looking forward to serving the Lions of 13E as their Governor for the next year.
